The copper cladded earth spike or stake is used to earth the electric fence system. The ground nearest the electric fence needs to have a minimum of three earth spikes set at least 1.5 metres apart. Use high tension insulated cable (HT) to connect these earth spikes to the energizer or fence. In poor earthing conditions, you may need to add a few more earth spikes/stakes along the fence line and connect these back to the energiser.
