Smart Camera
Wikipedia defines a Smart Camera as;
A smart camera (sensor) or intelligent camera (sensor) or (smart) vision sensor or intelligent vision sensor or smart optical sensor or intelligent optical sensor or smart visual sensor or intelligent visual sensor is a machine vision system which, in addition to image capture circuitry, is capable of extracting application-specific information from the captured images, along with generating event descriptions or making decisions that are used in an intelligent and automated system
The ProvisionISR Smart Cameras are ideal for streaming high-quality video and performing smart video analytics over a network.
Each component of the system, from the sensor, to the optics, through the CPU, and even the lighting, was specifically chosen to provide the most accurate AI result.

The NVR Video Recorder has built in feature that allows a retail outlet in this case to get video footage of a scanned item
When the teller scans an item via a barcode, the camera will keep a record of that scanned item in terms of the date and time so that you can go back on a playback to that specific item to ensure it was the correct item scanned.
The feature is built into the NVR and you will need to just confirm with us the POS software the shop is running in order for us to say if it is integrated or not.Video

Video Analytics
As CCTV software has evolved, we’ve come to understand video analytics as crunching the visual data streamed from network cameras and performing real-time event detection and post-event analysis.
When it comes to video analytics, we should consider the following main distinction:
Advanced Video Analytics
Artificial intelligence is based on a series of algorithms that process data by comparing the object seen with hundreds of thousands of stored reference images of objects in different angles, positions, and motions.
By combining all of the values from the various questions, an overall ranking is created which tells the A.I. whether the object is a human, a vehicle, or an object.
The ability to distinguish the type of “object”, false alarms caused by rain, shadows, light changes, shacking trees, and animals are significantly reduced with a smart camera.
Functions include;
- DDA Analytics
- Face Detection
- Face Recognition

Standard Video Analytics
“Video Motion Detection” (VMD), is a video analytic function based on the analysis of pixel variation. The cameras with VMD can detect changes that occur in their field of view, and generate alarms regardless of the object type.
Functions include;
- Camera Tampering
- Line Crossing
- Sterile Area

CASE STUDY - PICK & PAY SOUTH AFRICA
Provision-ISR is Pick n Pay’s preferred security equipment supplier. This includes both general surveillance and point of sale solutions. This will be implemented at all their national grocery stores as well as liquor stores.
Depending on government restrictions due to COVID-19, installation will take place in all their branches throughout 2021.
Wireless Cameras
Wireless security cameras, or Wi-Fi cameras, transmit their footage over Wi-Fi and are powered by AC power. In cases where the shop owner doesn’t want the extra expense and hassle of installing a wired camera solution, you can look at our Wireless Cameras that come with Human Detection.
Wireless security cameras generally store their footage on a cloud server or on local media, such as a micro SD card in the camera. They generally record when they detect motion or sound, but some can be set to record 24/7.
Wireless cameras capture high-resolution video and can record at night if equipped with night vision. They also typically have two-way audio capabilities so you can talk to the person seen by the camera.
Wireless security cameras are becoming very popular because they’re easy to install and it’s simple to view their footage using a smartphone or computer.
